i got a whole bunch of presents in the mail yesterday ^^ they look very pretty under my tree!

i finally get to go home on march 7th!!!

things are pretty crazy at work...a new semester is about to start...which unfortunately means i have too much stuff to do...

i've been working on a very long and thorough compilation of my thoughts, ideas, and experiences in korea...it might be ready in a couple weeks.

me and eleanor will be going to the dmz on saturday! finally!! 38th parallel, here we come!

i heard about that military jet crash in california...it's very tragic...but, i respect more than anything the guy whose family was killed. he's not blaming the united states or the pilot; he's standing there asking for help about what to do and saying he knows the pilot was a treasure to our country. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,464729,00.html had this happened in korea, the streets would be filled with protesters calling for all members of the military to be charged in some connection with the crash. the crash happened near miramar in california. the man whose mother-in-law, wife, and two daughters were killed is a south korean immigrant who moved to the states in 1989. the weirdest thing of all? jihae (korean teacher who sits next to me) knew this guy while she lived in california. the closest connection i have to this is that i was at miramar with darrin a couple years ago...my heart goes out to this man

so...this is how we eat galbi/samgyopsal...galbi is beef, samgyopsal is pork...i love this stuff...i'm going to miss it a lot!!
